President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States will now refer to the Strait of Hormuz as the “Trump Strait,” citing America’s success in the ongoing conflict with Iran. “When we win the war against Iran, oil prices will fall. We will win it, we have already won,” Trump declared, emphasizing that the U.S. has control over the vital waterway.
He added, “Ladies and gentlemen, I want to make an announcement. We will call it the Trump Strait.” Trump further stated, “I think we should call it the Trump Strait.” He expressed confidence that “I am sure Iranian leaders will be very pleased to know this.” Trump also warned that “Iran is being ground down.”
Trump warned that the United States could strike the Natanz nuclear facility on the Pique mountain, noting “We are aware of all activity in the region.” He said, “We know what is happening.” Trump advised Iran not to take any action, stating, “I would advise Iran not to try anything, otherwise we will have to strike them.” He added, “We have no other option. We cannot let Iran develop nuclear weapons.”
Notably, the United States attacked Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility on 22 June 2025, claiming that the attack destroyed Iran’s nuclear unit.
